Restaurant Owner Information

Los Angeles County is now offering an opportunity to expand your business and provide a valuable service to the community by participating in the CalFresh Restaurant Meals Program.

Los Angeles County has a large population of homeless, disabled, and elderly (age 60 and over) individuals who receive CalFresh benefits and are now able to use their Golden State Advantage (EBT) cards to purchase meals from participating restaurants throughout Los Angeles County. EBT cards work similar to ATM and credit cards.

Your business may benefit from this new Restaurant Meals Program by increasing your revenue and serving your community.

Participating Restaurant Means….

Those restaurants that have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Los Angeles County and have been certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).

Complete and Submit an application for certification by the USDA, FNS to accept CalFresh benefits and receive your FNS number.

Submit a copy of your business Certificate of Liability Insurance.

INSURANCE The information below details the insurance requirement of the Restaurant Meals Program as listed on Page 14, of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and is provided as a handy reference.
A.	Without limiting CONTRACTOR’s indemnification of COUNTY and during the term of this MOU, CONTRACTOR shall provide and maintain a program of General Liability insurance (written on ISO policy form CG 00 01, or its equivalent), endorsed adding the County of Los Angeles as an additional insured for all the activities arising from this MOU, and with limits of not less than the following:
	a)	General Aggregate: $2 million
	b)	Products/Completed Operations Aggregate: $1 million
	c)	Personal and Advertising Injury: $1 million
	d)	Each Occurrence: $1 million
B.	Such insurance shall be primary to and not contributing with any other insurance or self-insurance programs maintained by the COUNTY, and shall be provided at CONTRACTOR’s own expense. A certificate of Insurance (ACORD or its equivalent) or other evidence of coverage satisfactory to COUNTY shall be delivered to:

Failure by CONTRACTOR to maintain the required insurance, or to provide evidence of insurance coverage acceptable to COUNTY, shall constitute a material breach upon which COUNTY may immediately terminate or suspend this MOU prior to commencing services under this MOU.
